Outreach

At Hope Church, we believe that as followers of Jesus, we are called to act as He would act, we are called to "Be the Church". Jesus' church is not the building, it is the people who gather there, and then go out to serve others in His Name.

We serve our neighboring communities in many ways. Some of our "Be the Church" outings have been to bring music (our Praise Team and our Bell Choir) and worship to local assisted living facilities. From time to time, we have members of Hope who have been living in a facility and have a difficult time getting out to worship, so we bring worship to them! We've been to Wardell Gardens, Seabrook Assisted Living and Geraldine Thompson Care Center, and Rehab facilities in our neighborhood. We are investigating setting up visits with other facilities, and look forward to revisiting some we already have a relationship with.

In addition to going out into the community, we also invite the community to join us for some events: Pet Blessing, Wheels Blessing, and our One Starry Night Christmas program. Each of these have become an annual event, attracting many of the same participants each year.

Another outreach we have participated in for several years is Eatontown Community Day, and to a lesser extent, Tinton Falls Community Day. Hope Presbyterian was originally First Presbyterian Church of Eatontown, so our roots are there. But more importantly, we believe we are called to interact with all in our surrounding communities, to become aware of needs and try to meet those needs in Jesus' Name. One of the needs we were made aware of was to provide items for deployed service personnel through Operation Open Arms; we will be partnering with them again in the future. We are always open to learning about other opportunities to be the arms and feet and mouth of Jesus, meeting needs and sharing His love with those we come in contact with.
